Red Velvet Cookies

Dry ingredients:                                  Wet Ingredients:

5 cup flour                                              1 cup butter

6 tea baking powder                                2 cups sugar

1 cup cocoa                                              2 eggs

½ tea salt                                                  1 ½ cups of milk (add as much as ½ cup more)

2 tea vanilla

3 tablespoons red food coloring

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

Mix dry ingredients                                         Soften shortening

Cream shortening with sugar

Add eggs and milk

Add vanilla and food coloring

Combine wet and dry ingredients—the dough should be slightly moist

Add 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Drop dough on a slightly greased cookie sheet using a small meatball scooper.

 

Bake for 12-15 minutes

Icing: ½ stick of butter, pinch of salt, 1 tea vanilla, 3 tablespoons of milk, 1 cup or more powdered sugar.

Mix ingredients and dip cooled cookies into the icing. Place on a cookie sheet to dry.
